Sri Lankans to inspect damaged airplane
NEW DELHI: A team from Sri Lanka arrived in India on Saturday to inspect a Sri Lankan Airlines plane which was damaged when it was hit by a motorised boarding stairs before take off, the Press Trust of India reported.
SriLankan Airlines flight UL-170, carrying 84 passengers, was due to fly from an airport near the southern city of Kozhikode (formerly Calicut) in the state of Kerala to the Sri Lankan capital Colombo when the accident happened on Friday, PTI said.
“The team of engineers from Colombo is inspecting the damaged flight and waiting for spares to come from Singapore,” Sri Lankan Airlines sources told the news agency. afp
